Today in class we were suppose to choose any article from Kiwi Kids News. Many
people chose different articles but mine was called “Lady adopts two headed snake”.
As we know some snakes have venom but this one is safe to adopt. The two headed
snakes name were Filè and Gumbo.

This article is about a snake that was up for adoption and getting adopted by a lady.

The main message I found in this article is that there is a snake up for adoption
because it was a two headed snake. It is on the news because two headed snakes are
really rare and since they are hard to find and adopt.

The lady adopted the two headed snake in Louisiana, USA on June 17th 2018.

Sick!

Hello Bloggers,

Today I'm sick! It's been 3 days and this the third day. I felt really unwell, I EVEN VOMITED! That was my first day but after that day (basically yesterday) I went to the doctor. I couldn't go to school, since I was home bored just watching a DVD called "Jurassic World," the first one but then my mum told me that she got and email from Waikowhai Intermediate saying that, I'm gonna attend this intermediate next year! (since it was ballot day, ballot day is when you have gave your pack to which school your going and they have gave their decision if they can allow you to attend) After that I asked my mum am I going school tomorrow? She said "maybe, your not feeling that sick right?" I said "Not really, I'm feeling okay so I can go to school". So she'll think about it!

Maui and The Magic of Fire (Quiz/Story)

Writing With Mrs Butler!

Today we did a writing lesson with a teacher called Mrs Butler. Our writing lesson was to write a poem describing whats on our street. We called it "What's on our street poem," our purpose was to describe something using adjectives. The whole class did it independently on a piece of printed paper, here is my poem.                   (If its bold it means its printed, if its not bold then its written by me)

In my street there are expensive houses, abandoned houses, compound houses and rusty houses.
Rickety fences, ridged fences, blunt roofs, steep roofs, sliding glass windows with blue curtains.

Wild Thing

Today I have put together a description I made in class and a digital poster. It took really long especially the poster that is a drawing. When I first started doing the poster I got frustrated but I knew I had to show so resilience. The description we had a lot of mistakes (well for me) we had to finish because I didn't re-check it. Tens In All Numbers

Yesterday we started a lesson about hundreds, tens and ones and today we finished off a follow up task. We worked in buddies and my buddy is Ina, when we were finish we got some feedback from our teacher but she also realized mistakes that we have fixed. Here is Kanina's work (aka Kanishka/me and Ina)

Te Reo w/ Papa Jarrod! Our 15th Session

Today we did some more Te Reo with Papa Jarrod. We talked about our favorite subjects and say it in a sentence in Te Reo Maori. We did a video on filpgrid to show what we learnt with Papa Jarrod. We had to work with our buddies that we practiced our lines/sentences with. We were supposed to work as a pair but one of us would have been alone with no one because they were the extra one. My buddies were Ina and Mandita after creating our flipgrid video we decided to put it on our blog. Here is our flipgrid video!

Giving Blog Comments An Extreme Makeover!

Today in our Cybersmart lesson we had to give a comment a makeover! There were many comments that we could choose from 6 blogs, but I chose only one. The blog post I got it from was
Dani@Gilberthrope School. After choosing mine I chose mine and wrote all of it but without checking.

Gerhard told us to share our comments about what we wrote so far, I put my hand up and shared mine, but I had a few mistakes so I went back and checked it and corrected it and shared it to Gerhard personally (the one with mistakes I shared it to the class). After this Gerhard said I can post it on my blog. (like I'm literally doing right now)

Assembly Recount

Aloha Bloggers,

Today in Hay Park School on the 9th of August. The extraordinary Parekowhai Class had an class assembly to showcase our learning about our quality blogging. The rest of Hay Park School, teachers and parents were our audience at the assembly. Our theme was blogging because this term our focus is to blog a lot about our learning this term and share our learning.

We started our assembly with the “Wake Up Song.” After all the classes were in the school hall. We started doing the greeting and then we did the National Anthem. After we did the National Anthem we did the “Wake Up Song” (again). Some of us messed up while doing the moves so I give the moves a 8 out of 10, the singing was fabulous it was a 10 out of 10.

Things we shared in our assembly about blogging was about our Holiday blogging that Mandita and Simon presented, the Youtube Recommendation presented by Patrick, Bad habits that Rhia and Gloria presented. The Cook Island presentation showcased by Inangaro (Ina) and last but not least, the saddest one presented by Mose and Zion about plastic ruining our sea and killing creatures.

At the end, all the presenters said all together “Ka Kite Ano.” The assembly didn't go as planned because our teacher was recording on an ipad and the ipad stand collapsed. Also there was a missing person so we had to change bits that we were fine with but the assembly was fun and we enjoyed it.

My Bad Habits

Today our task was to share one of our bad habits and my bad habit is gaming too much. If you don't know what a bad habit is, well let me explain it to you. A bad habit is when you have a tempting action that you can't control or can’t stop if your clearly told not to. When I’m gaming too much I don't even realize that I am doing my habit of gaming again (I just do it too much).

The number one game I play on my device is ROBLOX. There are millions of games in there I play for like a hour. I think this is a bad habit because it might damage my eyesight with all the brightness. Also after a while, your eyes will start to strain as you stare at the screen, this can lead to headaches. I might also have to start wearing glasses, it might also make you become lazy also make you less active with using all your energy just to relax and sit down. I also think this is the most popular habit out of biting your nails, sleeping in for a whole day, picking your nose because now these days there are popular gamers on YouTube such as: PopularMMOs, GamingWithJen, DanTDM, Little Club AND MANY MORE!

I feel like quitting gaming but there is one problem it is… HOW AM I GONNA STOP EVEN IF I CAN’T CONTROL MY HABITS! Okay I‘ve taken my whole breath after that line. The only way I know that I’ve watched too much is when my forehead is hot just like when a charger is in the plug and charging a device for so long just like our forehead after watching a lot instead of charging a lot. I was hoping that if you guys have broken a bad habit or in other words stopped doing your bad habits, maybe I can get some tips and tricks from you bloggers.

Aboriginal Inspired Artwork

Today we did our Art Evaluation, we did it our art on Aboriginal Inspired Art. We did this type of cultural art for culture day. We also read a dream time book called "The Rainbow Serpent," our art was about the Rainbow Serpent since it is from the Aboriginals. We know that because the story, The Rainbow Serpent because we found it was a dream time story.

Cross Country

Hi bloggers, 

Today and yesterday we did some fitness we did some cross country. Cross country is when you run around in laps like an obstacle or like in the Olympics while we where running we used our muscles to run but we had to checked if our shoelaces were tied up. I got tired while running a long way round I ran two laps when I was nearly done to finish my second lap I felt kind of like vomiting. After I was done and I came back to class to sit down on the mat I couldn't sit down because my legs were sore also my back was also sore that is why I had to force myself to bend my legs it hurted kind of but I still forced myself to sit on the mat.

My Holiday

In the holidays most of the time I was on my tablet because I was at home but also at night time I went to my mums friends birthday I saw two waikowhai girls they use to be here last year and my mums friends birthday was on the 22th of July that why I weared my blue dress from last year before my birthday my mums friend  is also my friend but my friends necklace fell and got lost. I went shopping with my mom at the mall we buyed some clothe for my mom and other clothes for my family at home once me and my mom buyed a ring for my grandma at home I did some word search that my mom gave me also her self to do it when i am bored it was a frozen word search we had two but now one word search book is finish.
